Saskatoon Public Library

| Saskatoon Public Library (established in 1913) is comprised of a central library - the Frances Morrison Library, and six branch libraries: Alice Turner Branch, Carlyle King Branch (in Cosmo Civic Centre), Cliff Wright Branch (in Lakewood Civic Centre), J.S. Wood Branch, Mayfair Branch and the Rusty Macdonald Branch (in Lawson Civic Centre). The Library maintains an extensive catalogued collection of materials including books, DVDs, videos, CDs, audio cassettes, CD-ROMS, talking books and kits, as well as a vast array of newspapers and magazines. In Saskatoon, 62% of residents hold a library card. Children, teen and adult programs operate year round. The Gallery, housed in the Frances Morrison Library, serves as a venue for emerging and established artists. The Mendel Art Gallery & Civic Conservatory

| The Mendel is nestled into the landscape of the west bank of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, adjacent to the Meewasin Valley Authority trails, and close to the city’s downtown and the University of Saskatchewan.
The Mendel Art Gallery welcomes over 150,000 visitors each year. Free admission, free parking, and exceptional hours of operation keep the gallery lively and full of people. With the support of the Province of Saskatchewan, the City of Saskatoon and the University of Saskatchewan, Meewasin undertakes programs and projects in river valley education, development and conservation. |
